Scottish Championship: Nicky Clark sees competition for places at Rangers as a good thing

Nicky Clark is disappointed not to be starting more games at Rangers, but considers competition for places to be a good thing.
The 23-year-old striker helped to secure promotion in 2013/14, with his goals contributing towards a Scottish League One title success.
Rangers have, however, strengthened since taking a step up in class, with international stars drafted into their ranks.
Former favourites Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd have returned to Ibrox and have quickly become Ally McCoist’s favoured strike pairing.
That has left Clark and his fellow forwards feeding off scraps, but he acknowledges that a club the size of Rangers were always going to bring in quality recruits as they continue their march back up the league ladder.
Clark told the Daily Record: “Kenny and Kris have been doing well so I just need to get my head down and keep working.
“I’ve been happy with the way I’ve been playing. We’ve had a few good results too.
“I’ve said it a few times now, we have loads and loads of good players at the club who have international caps and you have to expect boys like that to come in and play.
“You just have to get your head down and hope your chance comes.
“Our squad was an advantage right from the start of the season. You saw that in the East Fife match with myself and Jon Daly starting then Kenny and Kris coming off the bench.
“Wee Temps (David Templeton) has been on the bench as well so we have a lot of talented players.
“We need that because it’s a long season and we need to keep winning games.
“At a club like Rangers you need a big squad and we were able to bring in players like that over the summer. That is an advantage to us.
“We need to keep playing and make sure we win all the games that are coming up.
“I’m sure Hearts and us will stumble somewhere along the way, so it’s down to ourselves to make sure that we manage to win our games.”
