Stuart McCall has demanded an improvement from his Rangers side despite them demolishing Raith Rovers 4-0 at Ibrox.

A second half double from Nicky Law added to goals from Nicky Clark and Haris Vuckic to keep Gers joint second of the Scottish Championship with Hibernian.

McCall was pleased with the result but still believes the Light Blues can improve in some areas.

The 50-year-old, whose side face Livingston on Wednesday, said: “Yeah it’s a pleasing result and a clean sheet, which is important, but for 20-25 minutes of the second-half we were a bit sloppy and casual and let them into the game.

“I think we can do better in certain areas and we have to set ourselves standards and keep them up regardless of what the score is.

“We did okay and it sounds a bit silly after a 4-0 win but I think we can still do a lot better but it’s job done and confidence will be restored after the other night.

“We tried to play it through the middle when we should have been getting into wider areas and getting down the sides of them.”

He added: "There is no singing and dancing. We have done okay but we will need to be better and we can be better.”

Meanwhile, Rovers boss Grant Murray said he feared a backlash after Gers lost to Queen of the South on Thursday.

He said: "We knew they would come at us after losing on Thursday and we knew it would be difficult.

"It is difficult coming to places like this and you have got to stand up and have the right mentality.

"But going a goal down so early put us on the back foot."
