Erik Sviatchenko having medical at Celtic - Sky sources

Erik Sviatchenko is having a medical at Celtic ahead of a proposed move from FC Midtjylland, according to Sky sources.

The centre-back has been capped by Denmark and was linked with a move to Glasgow in the summer, when his agent spoke openly about Celtic's interest.

West Brom's interest was reported by several English newspapers in the autumn, but Celtic appear to have won the race for his signature.

The Scottish champions brought in Tyler Blackett and Dedryck Boyata in the summer when Jason Denayer and Virgil van Dijk left the club.

But Ronny Deila said in November he was still in the market, telling the Scottish Sun: "We're looking at defenders, but it can't be any big transfer fees."
