Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic admits he was in ebullient mood flying back to Australia for a World Cup qualifying double header.

Rogic returned home just 24 hours after scoring a dramatic late winner at Kilmarnock before joining up with his international team-mates for games against Tajikistan in Adelaide on Thursday and Harry Redknapp's Jordan in Sydney next Tuesday.

The 23-year-old, who joined Celtic from Central Coast Mariners in January 2013, is finally back to full fitness following the ankle injury he suffered at the start of the year.

The Australian's wonder goal gave the Hoops all three points at Rugby Park, and he revealed to this week's Celtic View the sublime strike had been no fluke as he had been scoring for fun at the Hoops Lennoxtown training centre.

"I felt last week in particular I had a really good week," he told the View. "And when you get a chance you just have to take it. It doesn't always happen like that but fortunately this time it did. The last couple of days in training I did score a couple but not quite like that.

"At the end of January, I hurt my ankle against Hamilton so I was out for a few weeks, and when you lose your place in the team sometimes, you just have to work hard - we've got a good squad - and show the coaches what you can do in training.

"As a substitute you want to try and have an influence on the match. Obviously we all want to be starting, but that's a decision the coaches make and, as a player, you just have to respect that and be as ready as you can as a substitute and try to have an influence when you come on. Thankfully that was the case for me."
