Celtic boss Ronny Deila hopes to see his side take a step closer to sealing a fifth successive title on Sunday when they entertain Ross County.

Deila decided he would step down from his position at the end of the season following last weekend's Scottish Cup upset against Championship winners Rangers at Hampden Park.

Pressure had been mounting on Deila throughout the season because of a poor European campaign, but the Norwegian was left with little choice over his future after Celtic laboured for the second time in three months in a domestic cup semi-final - crashing out of both competitions.

Although the Hoops have stuttered throughout the season, the team have produced their best performances in the league to see off a spirited challenge from nearest rivals Aberdeen.

And St Johnstone's 3-0 victory over the Dons on Friday means Celtic can win the title by picking up just four points from their last five games.

Despite the disappointment from last Sunday's performance, Deila insists he will not make radical changes for his final run of matches as he looks to secure his second league title in his two seasons at Celtic Park.

"We are not going to change everything around," Deila said.

"We have won a lot of football games. We lost at the weekend but before that we hadn't lost since February.

"This game is going to be very important.

"We want to bounce back from the disappointment we had at the weekend because that was a very big blow for everybody and I could see that in the eyes of the players.

"Wanting to bounce back in a very strong way and put the pressure on everybody else, that is what we want to see out on the pitch on Sunday."

Deila revealed earlier in the week he had been considering his future for some time, although he was tempted to stay for the Champions League qualifiers.

The former Stromsgodset boss did not feel the team were progressing enough under his stewardship though, and reckons a new manager may have a better chance of improving Celtic at European level.

"I was thinking that but it is about seeing that I get improvement," Deila said.

"If I see that the team are taking steps then I carry on. But I haven't seen that improvement for the last six months.

"I haven't seen that it was going the right way and that is also a decision to make for the club, because I think the pressure going into the next Champions League will be unbelievable and that will be tough for the whole club.

"Now there is new energy coming in. That will be positive."
