Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila will take charge of Valerenga in January

Former Celtic coach Ronny Deila has been named the new manager of Valerenga in his homeland of Norway.

The 40-year-old will take charge of the Tippeligaen outfit in January 2017 ahead of the new season.

Deila won two Scottish Premiership titles and the League Cup during his time in Celtic Park before being replaced by Brendan Rodgers this summer.

He made his name in his homeland with Stromsgodset, taking the club to the league championship before moving to Scotland to replace Neil Lennon.
