Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou insists they will treat Livingston with as much respect as Real Madrid

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou insists they will treat Livingston with as much respect as Real Madrid.

They head to the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday, live on Sky Sports Football, before their final Champions League Group F match against the current holders at the Bernabeu.

Celtic have lost just once in the Scottish Premiership this season but Postecoglou, who has winger Jota and defender Carl Starfelt back in his squad, insists they must approach their clash with Lions in the same manner as their upcoming game against the Champions League holders.

"For every club Livingston can be a tough game, particularly at their place," he told Sky Sports News.

"They're a hard-working team, very well structured with a clear game plan and they make it hard for any opposition.

"We experienced that last year in the first game and didn't deal it with well and didn't get our rewards. The pleasing thing from the second game was a good performance and a win. It just shows that if we are on it and can play our football, we can have it.

"I have great respect for it, that's our game. For every manager the goal is to get the best out of the team and the players.

"We certainly treat every opponent the same way. We put the same kind of preparation into Sunday as we would playing Real Madrid in the Champions League."

While Jota and Starfelt are back in the squad, neither are expected to start Sunday's match and Postecoglou will once again look to utilise all his players.

"We've been rotating our squad a fair bit during this period. We've had to because we know how congested the schedule is and the pleasing thing for me is we've got five games left before the break and we have pretty much everyone available. It means we can keep rotating."
