Hoops skipper insists leaving club never crossed his mind

Celtic captain Scott Brown has declared that his contract was always going to get extended despite the delay in finalising the deal. The ex-Hibernian midfielder agreed terms with the Hoops several months ago but a disagreement about his agent's fee created rumours over a possible exit from the club. Brown was linked with a free transfer to Newcastle at the end of the season but he eventually signed a new contract on Saturday which will now keep him at the club until 2015. The Scotland international has insisted that he was never going to leave, saying: "Not in my mind. Maybe other people's mind but I knew Celtic was the only club for me. "I knew it was going to happen eventually. It was up to the club and my agent as well. I don't really take part in that."
