Kenny Miller is keen to extend his playing career past next year but admits managing Rangers in the future would be a "dream come true".
The striker is in his third spell at Ibrox and recently signed a one-year extension to his current deal which ties him to Mark Warburton's side until 2017.
Miller, 35, has also taken on a coaching role with Ian Durrant's U20 side and says he does have plans to get into management eventually.
"Management is definitely a road I want to go down," he said. "Whether that means I have to go into coaching, assistant, working with youths first, but for me ultimately it will be first-team management.
"If I could come back here in the future, that would be the dream come true."
However, Miller is keen to keep his playing career going beyond the new one-year deal he has just signed at Ibrox.
Asked if he feels as though he could play until he is 40, Miller said: "At the moment I do, but ask me in a couple of years and we will see.
"I feel great, despite having a little niggling injury over the last couple of weeks. The training has definitely been beneficial, going into games. After games I'm not quite as sore and I think that is down to the level of training we do.
"So, I don't see any reason why not, I've obviously got the contract for another 18 to 20 months now and for me, even at the end of that, I have got no plans to hang them [his boots] up after that."
And, speaking ahead of Saturday's trip to Livingston, Miller said the contract extension gives him the chance to challenge for another Premiership title, should Rangers gain promotion this season.
"We want to make sure we win the league this year and get back to the top flight," he said. "Then ultimately we need to win that league back. That's what the fans expect and us as players are demanding of one another.
"We're not going up there just to challenge for a top-six place, we need to be challenging for that league. Would I like one more title before I retire? That would be great."
