Mark Warburton says Alan Stubbs' pre-match mind games had absolutely no effect on him or his team after Rangers beat Championship rivals Hibernian 4-2 on Monday.

The Hibs manager had previously insisted all the pressure was on Rangers heading into the crucial title clash at Ibrox and claimed he was enjoying trying to engage in mind games with Warburton.

However, after the Gers victory, Warburton said such psychological sparring was not something he has ever been keen to engage in and claims he would be in the wrong job if he was concerned by Stubbs' comments.

He said: "I'm not a fan of it, what are mind games? Everyone is different and the world would be a really boring place - I said this last week, if everyone was the same what a boring world it would be, but mind games? What are mind games?

"If you are affected by what someone else says then you are in the wrong industry.

"You have to have very thick skin to be in football and if you are bothered by other comments then get out and change your job."

However, Warburton, who has said the club will appeal Andy Halliday's red card in the game, thinks his team were fired up by accusations that they were spineless after winning two league games in six before victory over Hibs.

"There were comments which frustrated us," he said. "There were lots of comments about having no spine which I thought was a hugely disrespectful statement to us as top of the league and certain media outlets saying that.

"We'll remember those comments, we'll use those comments - ill-judged and, in my mind, totally incorrect."
