Mark Warburton admitted his Rangers side spoiled their own title party after allowing Raith to snatch a dramatic leveller at Stark's Park.

Gers looked on course to clinch the Ladbrokes Championship crown as they took a 3-2 lead into the final moments in Fife.

But on-loan Leicester striker Harry Panayiotou left the champions-elect frustrated when he bundled home with virtually the last kick of the game.

His dramatic winner came just seconds after Wes Foderingham looked to have rescued his side's victory when he saved Panayiotou's penalty.

The 3-3 draw means the Ibrox side must wait until Tuesday to seal promotion back to the top-flight when they face Dumbarton at home.

But Warburton, whose side also saw Kenny Miller have what he felt was a legitimate goal chalked off for offside in the closing stages, was left upset Rangers could not get the job done in Kirkcaldy.

Gers have now conceded nine goals in their last three games and the Englishman - who chose to put on Gedion Zelalem rather than holding midfielder Dom Ball in the closing stages - said: "It's frustrating. Our player is adamant it wasn't a penalty. Either way, great save by Wes. But we've got to defend the corner

afterwards better. Our frustration is that Kenny Miller showed great quality and cleverness and it's a goal - it's a goal and we can't understand why it's been ruled off for offside.

"Those are the details but we have to defend it better. We should've been out of sight. We must learn from it and do the job on Tuesday night.

"We thought that was it and it was all done at the penalty. The players and staff are all frustrated. We've conceded three goals, that's not good enough as a group we know that.

"We had a great run of a defending record but the last few games hasn't been good enough. When we don't we look after the ball we look an average team. When we take care of it we look a very good team."

Rangers needed to win in Fife and hope St Mirren would do them a favour against Hibernian in Paisley.

The Buddies held their end of the bargain as they drew 2-2 against Alan Stubbs' men but Rangers slipped up.

Louis Longridge gave Rovers a shock lead with a 20-yard beauty but goals fromHarry Forrester and Michael O'Halloran put Gers back in charge.

James Craigen's volley just before half-time levelled the match again but Miller put Gers back on course for the title when he struck four minutes after the break.

But the drama really started in stoppage time when Rob Kiernan tripped Panayiotou as the striker drove into the box. Foderingham won that first battle but it was the St Kitts and Nevis international who had the last word with his scrambled equaliser.

Having blown one opportunity, Warburton has now told his troops he does not want a repeat of their sloppiness in midweek.

"You could hear from the fans what was happening in the other game but it's not about Hibs or Falkirk, it's got to be about us," he said. "We said come here, get the win and set up to win the title on Tuesday night in front of the supporters so nothing has changed really.

"We want to win it full stop and get as many points as we can. We don't want to limp over the line. We'll have a packed Ibrox on Tuesday. Dumbarton won't lie  down that's for sure we will have to prepare well for the game to deliver the performance.

"We want to play well, we're hungry, we have big games coming up and we have to make sure our focus is intact. We'll be ready for that game."
