Rangers are in discussions with Norwich City over the transfer of Scotland midfielder Graham Dorrans, according to Sky sources.
It is also understood that the Ibrox club are holding talks with Mexican side CD Guadalajara (Chivas) over the potential signing of Mexico international midfielder Carlos Pena.
The 27 year-old Pena, who has 19 caps for his country and played at the 2014 World Cup, spent last season on loan at Leon. If he were to move to Ibrox, a work permit would be required.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has contacts within Mexican football, having managed for two seasons at Santos Laguna from 2013 to 2015.
At Monday lunchtime, it seemed Rangers were closing on Dorrans, 30, who has two years left on his contract at Carrow Road, but is believed to be keen to return to Scotland this summer.
Dorrans made 24 appearances for Norwich last season, scoring six goals. He moved there in January 2015 after seven years at West Bromwich Albion having begun his career at Livingston.
He has played 12 times for Scotland since his debut in 2009.
