Rangers are close to completing a season-long loan deal for Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria, Sky Sports News understands.

The 20-year old has made eight appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side but was sent out to spend part of the 2017/18 season on loan at Sunderland.

The youngster looks set to head out for another loan spell and is well known to new Gers boss Steven Gerrard from his time in the Liverpool youth academy.

The midfielder was also part of the England squad that won the Under 20 World Cup last year in South Korea.

Gerrard has already made three signings this summer, with Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Jamie Murphy all penning deals with the Glasgow club.
