Euro 2016 may still be in its first round of fixtures but Aberdeen have become the first team in Britain to report back for pre-season training.

Derek McInnes' men, who finished second to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for the second consecutive campaign last season, returned to training on Tuesday as they get set to prepare for Europa League action.

Niall McGinn is in France with the Northern Ireland squad, while former team-mates Simon Church and Danny Ward, who were on loan at Pittodrie last season, are with the Wales camp.

However, the rest of the Dons squad are back to work, less than a month after they wrapped up their league campaign with a 4-0 defeat at home to Ross County on May 15.

Aberdeen, who will head to St Andrews for a training camp, play the first leg of the first qualifying round of the Europa League on June 30.

Hearts, who enter the competition at the same stage after securing a third place finish in the Premiership last season, report back for pre-season training a day later on Wednesday June 15.
