Sky Sports understands Hearts remain hopeful Juanma's proposed move to Beveren will still materialise.
Media reports on Tuesday suggested the transfer had had fallen through because Juanma could not agree personal terms.
Other claims indicate the 25-year-old failed a medical with the Belgian club.
The Spaniard is understood to be heading back to Scotland while the various parties attempt to resurrect the deal.
Juanma arrived at Tynecastle in July 2015 and signed a three-year contract with Hearts, but he has been told he has no long term future with the club.
His career began with Jove Espanol, followed by short spells at Denia and Alaves. He then signed for Greek side Asteras Tripoli before joining Kalloni the year afterwards.
