Killie boss happy extending striker's stay
Kilmarnock have offered Mark Burchill the chance to stay with the Rugby Park outfit for the remainder of the season.
Jim Jefferies snapped up the experienced striker on a six-month deal in the summer after a 12-month stay with Rotherham United.
Although the 29-year-old has mustered only three SPL appearances so far, Jefferies is keen to retain his services until next summer.
Jefferies believes the club are now starting to see the best of him following injury and he is backing the forward to be back among the goals.
Unlucky
"Burchy has been unlucky with injury and we have reviewed the terms of his deal so he now has a contract for the rest of the season," explained Jefferies.
"There was a clause where we would review his contract in January if he played a certain amount of games.
"He was not able to do that because he has been out injured but Burchy is getting his chance now and will play his fair share.
"All he has to do is perform the way he did against St Johnstone. That doesn't mean to say if he does not score goals we won't keep him.
"The pressure is off Burchy as he knows he has a deal in place with us until the end of the season."
