Kilmarnock have announced former defender Andy King has died

Former Kilmarnock defender Andy King has died. He was 72.

King, who scored five goals in 224 appearances for the club between 1961-1972, was a member of the team which won the 1965 Scottish First Division Championship.

In a statement on Kilmarnock's official website, the club said: "We regret to inform our fans that former player Andy King has passed away.

"The club understand Andy passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home in Kilmarnock on 23rd February, aged 72.

"Everyone at Kilmarnock Football Club offers their sincere condolences ‎to Andy's family and friends at this sad time."
