Neil Lennon has been given a one-match touchline ban following his dismissal during Hibernian's Europa League defeat to Brondby.

The new Hibs boss was just half an hour into his first competitive match when he was sent to the stands for his reaction to a disallowed Jason Cummings goal.

Lennon, who called the referee's decision "nonsensical" in the aftermath of a 1-0 first-leg defeat, will now be banned from the dugout for the return in Denmark next Thursday.

The former Celtic boss indicated in his post-match interview he would appeal any sanction, saying: "I remonstrated with the linesman and was sent off for no reason whatsoever.

"I want to appeal it, because it's just a piece of nonsense. It's the first time in Europe that I've been sent to the stand so I'm really irked by that."
