Hibs have completed the signing of Ricardo Vaz Te on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Calderwood happy with new signing

Hibernian have completed the signing of Ricardo Vaz Te on a short-term deal until the end of the season. As revealed by skysports.com last week, Vaz Te has won a contract at Easter Road after impressing on trial. Vaz Te arrives on a free transfer after he was released from his deal with Greek side Panionios and he is Colin Calderwood's seventh signing as boss. The 24-year-old will be included in Hibs' squad for Tuesday's clash at Hamilton after Calderwood confirmed the paperwork had been completed. "Everything's completed now so we're delighted to announce he's confirmed as a Hibernian player," said Calderwood. "He's missed a bit of football so there's a bit of fitness he's got to regain, but we'll stick him in the squad for tomorrow night. "The reason to bring him in is to try and see what he can do - we'll try and push that as soon as possible. "It's an opportunity for him and ourselves to assess one another and see if we can have a fruitful end to the season. "He's got good pace, good technical ability and has shown good shooting prowess in training."
