O'Brien follows Fenlon to Easter Road as first-team coach

Hibernian have confirmed Billy Brown will stay at Easter Road as new manager Pat Fenlon's assistant and Liam O'Brien has been named first-team coach. Brown initially linked up with Hibs in September as Colin Calderwood's No.2 and he had been in caretaker charge following the former manager's sacking earlier this month. He was under consideration to replace Calderwood on a full-time basis, but Hibs opted to bring in Fenlon from Bohemians. Fenlon watched Saturday's 3-1 defeat at St Johnstone from the stands and was in the directors' box alongside O'Brien, who will take up a coaching role with Hibs. Former Republic of Ireland international O'Brien worked with Fenlon at Bohemians and the new Hibs chief is happy with the make-up of his backroom team. "I'm delighted to be able to put such a strong management team together," said Fenlon. "Billy possesses an incredible knowledge of the Scottish game and the strengths that Liam brings will be extremely valuable to the club. "We all share a huge passion for the game and a desire to create a winning culture here at Hibernian." The new-look coaching team was announced after Hibs confirmed on Monday that first-team coaches Gareth Evans and Alistair Stevenson had both departed the club.
