Hibernian have agreed a deal to sign former Carlisle midfielder Tom Taiwo on a free transfer.
Former Chelsea and Leeds youngster Taiwo arrives on a free transfer after leaving Carlisle earlier this summer.
Hibs are finalising paperwork on a two-year deal for the 22-year-old and Pat Fenlon believs the midfielder will be a quality addition to the squad at Easter Road.
"We felt we were a little bit light in midfield," Fenlon said.
"When Lewis (Stevenson) got injured we went into games with (Gary) Deegan and Jorge (Claros) and nobody on the bench that could play in a central midfield position.
"We wanted to bring in someone in that position, but we also wanted to bring in someone that can improve us. We also want competition within the club.
"We've brought him in to go and play. He's a good player. He's good on the ball. He gets it and he moves things quickly and keeps it simple.
"He has a fantastic attitude and we're delighted to get him in."
Taiwo will not make his debut in Saturday's SPL clash with Kilmarnock.
"He hasn't done loads of training," Fenlon added. "It will probably be a week, 10 days before we consider him to be fit enough to get involved."
