Scottish Championship side Dundee United have parted company with manager Csaba Laszlo following Saturday's 5-1 loss to Ross County.

Laszlo took charge in November last year but failed to guide the club to promotion, as they were beaten by Livingston in the play-off semi-finals.

The club are currently fourth in the Championship standings - five points off the pace - with three wins from their first seven games.

A club statement read: "Dundee United and Csaba Laszlo have mutually agreed to the end of the manager's contract with the club, effective today, Sunday 30 September 2018.

"Laurie Ellis will assume the position of interim manager with immediate effect."

Chairman Mike Martin said: "I would like to thank Csaba for the considerable commitment he showed during his time at Dundee United and for his contribution to improving the underpinning football structure at the club.
