Scottish Premiership: Gary Warren rallies Inverness for Rangers clash

Inverness defender Gary Warren has vowed the Highlanders will be back to their best when they take on Rangers at Ibrox on Tuesday night.

John Hughes' side were knocked off the Scottish Premiership summit by Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Partick at Firhill.

And Warren admits Caley Thistle struggled defensively as the Jags bounced back from Aaron Doran's 13th-minute opener to end their unbeaten record.

But Warren believes his side will not be so sloppy when they take on Ally McCoist's men in midweek League Cup action.

He said: "We were not at it as a team on Saturday. We were not as good as we have been over the last six games.

"We were slow out of the traps even though we scored early and then conceded two goals in the space of five minutes, which was a bit sloppy.

"The second goal from the corner was really disappointing because it was just so simple. Defending is our trademark but we were not up to our usual standards.

"We were playing with a bit confidence and had a swagger about us, so that is why the result is so disappointing.

"Now we need to react positively against Rangers. We did the same last year when we came off a good run against St Johnstone after they spanked us 4-0.

“But we bounced back and went on another run, so if we can react the same way, we'll be fine."
