Ligue 1 round-up: Angers stay second after battling win over Toulouse

Surprise package Angers maintained second place in Ligue 1 with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Toulouse.

Stephane Moulin's side had to do it the hard way, though, when they fell behind to Oscar Trejo's opener on 24 minutes following some neat interplay with Martin Braithewaite.

That lead lasted just three minutes as Cheikh Ndoye headed Vincent Manceau's delivery beyond Ali Ahamada to silence the home crowd.

And, when Abdoul Camara beat two defenders before dispatching a clinical 18-yard effort beyond Ahamada, that proved to be enough for Angers to claim their sixth league win of the season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his second brace of the season as Paris St Germain ran out 2-0 winners against a gutsy Bastia side.

The hosts looked like holding out for a point following a largely uneventful 70 minutes before the talismanic Sweden international popped up with two efforts in an 11-minute spell, notching his 13th and 14th goals in just 12 Ligue 1 matches.

Nantes avoided a third successive home defeat in Ligue 1 with a 3-0 win over struggling Troyes.

Valentin Rongier netted his first goal of the season in stunning fashion when his 25-yard rocket flew into the top corner to hand Les Canaris a half-time lead.

Shortly after the restart the hosts added a second when Troyes goalkeeper Denis Petric allowed Youssouf Sabaly's hopeful shot to creep in at his near post.

And, just after the hour mark, Yacine Bammou wrapped up the points with a third Nantes goal, pouncing on a loose Chris Mavinga pass to get past Petric and score into an empty net.

Caen secured a third straight Ligue 1 win to maintain their impressive start to the season with a slender 1-0 victory at Reims.

Andy Delort did all the hard work for the goal, rolling the ball into the path of Julien Feret, who finished with ease to send Patrice Garande's side third in the table.

St Etienne bounced back from two straight Ligue 1 defeats with a routine 2-0 win against bottom-club Ajaccio.

Having failed to take any points from clashes with Caen and Nice, Robert Beric set about changing the record when he converted Valentin Eyserric's corner on 20 minutes.

But the hosts had to wait until the 70th minute to double their advantage when Kevin Monnet-Paquet sent an effort into the bottom corner after playing a neat one-two with Eyserric on the edge of the area.

Ten-man Lille's inconsistent start to the Ligue 1 season continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw in Guingamp.

Both goals came during a three minute spell in the first half, Sofiane Boufal opening the scoring in fine style on the half hour mark, beating Lars Jacobsen before sending a sublime finish beyond Jonas Lossl.

Lille boss Herve Renard did not have to wait long for a response from his side as Jimmy Briand levelled just three minutes later, finishing well after some great work from Yannis Salibur.
