Monaco ended a run of four straight draws as Bernardo Silva's goal secured a 1 -0 victory over Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The Portuguese midfielder's fourth goal of the season was enough to ensure a much-needed three points for the principality side as the hosts were consigned to a third successive league defeat.

Any hopes of a Reims comeback appeared to diminish when Antoine Devaux was shown his second yellow of the game on 69 minutes, and although Gaetan Charbonnier did test Danijel Subasic moments later, it was Monaco who finished the stronger and held on to move up to eighth place.

Marseille ended a run of five league games without a win as they clinched a 2-1 victory over Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Michy Batshuayi set the visitors on their way in the 37th minute, pouncing on the rebound after Romain Alessandrini's effort came back off the upright.

Les Olympiens doubled their lead after 56 minutes when some poor defending allowed Batshuayi to tee up Alessandrini and the former Rennes man powered the ball into the top corner.

Lille pulled a goal back on 71 minutes when Sebastien Corchia converted Renato Civelli's half-volley but that proved too little too late as Marseille climb up to 14th, one place ahead of Lille.

Elsewhere, Bordeaux inflicted more misery on bottom club Troyes with a slender 1-0 win at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Substitute Adam Ounas netted his second goal in three games 11 minutes from time to hand Willy Sagnol's side only their third league win of the campaign.
