Dutchman keen on future move to United Arab Emirates

Lille's Patrick Kluivert has revealed that he turned down an offer from the United Arab Emirates. Kluivert signed for Lille on a free transfer during the summer after leaving PSV Eindhoven at the end of last season. The 31-year-old reportedly rejected the offer of a trial period at Sheffield Wednesday, and he has now confirmed that a club from the United Arab Emirates attempted to secure his services. Kluivert explained his reasons for joining the Ligue 1 side, voicing his determination to make a lasting impression during his time in France. "I chose Lille because for the previous two years I have not played that much," he told L'Equipe.

Future move

"I was presented with the opportunity to bounce back at Lille, and so I seized it. "I had another proposition from United Arab Emirates, who offered me a good contract. "But I did not want that now, maybe in three years time so I can finish my career there. "I am here to prove Kluivert is not only a name."
