France international striker not for sale

Toulouse coach Alain Casanova has played down any suggestion that Andre-Pierre Gignac could be sold. The France international has been strongly linked with a move elsewhere this summer amid claims that the 24-year-old is keen to find European football at a bigger club. The likes of Bordeaux are reported to have expressed an interest in the highly-rated frontman, while clubs from across the continent are believed to be monitoring his situation. Casanova, though, is adamant that Gignac is not for sale and is hoping he can be kept well clear of the exits. "I am convinced that he will stay," he told L'Equipe. "However, I am not in his mind or that of his agent. No club has shown an interest as yet. "That doesn't mean that he has lost his value. He endured a difficult season with injuries, and a difficult World Cup, but I am convinced he will have a great season this year if he remains with us."
