Al Kamali set for European move
Hamdan Al Kamali has revealed that preliminary talks with Lyon about a possible move are under way.
The Al Wahda defender has long been courted by Lyon after the Ligue 1 giants had a bid for the player turned down last summer.
A dream move to Europe is now on the cards for the 22-year-old after his club agreed to discuss terms with the French outfit.
"We have been talking but not reached an agreement yet," Al Kamali was quoted as saying to
The National.
"For now, I am only focused on the important (league) game against Jazira. So anything that may be discussed further on the negotiations or reaching an agreement will be after this match."
Khaled Awadh, Al Wahda's deputy chief executive, is prepared to let his star player go if it helps with the player's development.
"There is no problem in releasing the player if he benefits from his time in Europe," he said.
"Hamdan is valuable to us as well as the national team, and we must look after his welfare."
If the transfer materialises, Al Kamali would become the first Emirati to play for a major European side.
