Coach not being retained after keeping club in Ligue 1

Nice coach Rene Marsiglia has confirmed that he is leaving his position following talks with the club's hierarchy. Marsiglia was promoted from the role of assistant coach in November to succeed Eric Roy, but he is not being retained despite keeping Nice in Ligue 1. A 4-3 victory at Lyon on Sunday ensured that the club finished the campaign in 13th position, four points clear of the relegation zone. However, following a meeting with president Jean-Pierre Riviere and general director Julien Fournier, the former Nice defender confirmed his contract has not been extended. "I will not be the Nice coach next season," Marsiglia told reporters. "I just had an interview with the president and the general director, and they just announced it to me."
