LYON LASHED BY LUYINDULA

RACING STRASBOURG smashed Olympique Lyon 4-2 thanks to a hat-trick from 20-year-old striker Pegguy Luyindula.

Les Gones, in fourth place, have taken just two points from the last four games which has left them thirteen points behind leaders Monaco, who they face on Sunday.

Luyindula`s strikes and a Florent Lavelle own goal gave the relegation threatened Racing a shock four-goal lead before Sonny Anderson and Frederic Kanoute scored to give the scoreline some respectability.

Elsewhere, Marseille looked to be heading for victory at home to Rennes courtesy of a 24th minute strike from Cyrille Pouget before substitute Shabani Nonda struck for the visitors six minutes from time.

Two strikes inside the first four minutes from Alex Di Rocco sealed victory for Sedan over Montpellier though the South Coast outfit pulled a goal back nine minutes from time through Tiofilou Maoulida`s penalty.

Racing Lens beat St Etienne 2-0 thanks to goals from Lamine Sakho and Daniel Moriera.

Sladjan Djukic and Diamaba Mendy scored for Troyes as they bounced back from a first half goal from Brazilian Ze Alcino.

Metz`s 3-1 win at Nantes forced the French Cup winners into Le Championnat`s relegation zone. Former Newcastle striker Louis Saha opened the scoring for the away side and strikes from Gerald Baticle and Eric Carriere`s own goal secured victory despite Frederic De Rocha`s goal for les grenats.

Finally, former Watford striker Xavier Gravelaine had a superb debut for Le Havre as he scored once and laid on another for Guillaume Beuzelin though this wasn`t enough to beat Bastia who scored through Franck Jurietti and pierre Laurent.
