Paris Saint Germain have made defensive midfielder Didier Digard their first signing of the summer. The Le Havre ace moves to the Parc des Princes on a three-year deal after PSG met the Ligue 2 club's é¼2.5million (£1.6m) valuation of the 20-year-old.
PSG fought off competition from fellow French club Monaco and English trio West Ham, Aston Villa and Reading to land Digard.
"I'm very happy with this signing. Didier was someone we wanted," said club president Alain Cayzac.
"He's a player with character, a great potential, a defender, and that was our priority in the transfer market."
Meanwhile, Cayzac has denied that full-back Sylvain Armand is to join Lyon this summer.
PSG want to hold onto the talented stopper and Cayzac is confident a new contract will soon be agreed.
"He will stay at PSG," he said.
"He has three years remaining on his contract. We have proposed him a one-year extension and I believe it could be settled soon."
