Evra: Don't believe the hype
Monaco starlet Patrice Evra has revealed he thinks his side receives too much praise in the press.
The Principality side are currently top of Le Championnat by six points but the young full back has warned his team-mates not to be sucked in and start believing their own press if they want to be crowned French champions come the season's end.
Evra told L'Equipe: "People say: 'You are too strong, unbeatable'. That is a trap.
"I hope we don't get too much media coverage either, it could break the group.
"We want to win Le Championnat. We are ready for the challenge, but you can feel our adversaries always give their best.
"They play hard and they try to find weaknesses. However, we are stronger on a physical level than last season."
The Senegalese born star, who is a full French international, is touted for a recall to Jacques Santini's side soon but Evra was quick to praise Stade Louis II boss Didier Deschamps for his recent impressive form, saying the ex-Juventus midfielder taught him how to enjoy defending.
"Someone talked to me about the French team this morning," he added. "It is an aim and I won't hide, but it is only an added bonus.
"I didn't really know how to enjoy being a defender, I could not say to myself: 'Pat, you are a defender, if you tackle you will improve'.
"I listened to the coach (Deschamps). So I have now learned to get big enjoyment from massive tackles.
"Before I only had fun when I was attacking."
