Monaco reject Ljuboja chance

More from Football

Monaco coach Didier Deschamps is understood to have snubbed the chance to sign Paris Saint Germain forward Daniel Ljuboja.

The Serbia & Montenegro international only joined PSG from Strasbourg in January, but is already unsettled at Parc des Princes.

He has a fractious relationship with coach Vahid Halilhodzic, who has been unhappy with Ljuboja's attitude in pre-season training.

Ljuboja has not trained for the past two days due to a back complaint, but Halilhodzic feels the 25-year-old should continue working.

This has prompted speculation that Ljuboja is to be offloaded by PSG and he is rumoured to have been offered to Monaco.

But Deschamps has rejected the chance to snap up the Balkan hot shot, as he wants to focus on other transfer targets.

With a ‚é¼10 million deal for Lecce hit-man Javier Chevanton close to being completed, Deschamps is eyeing up another Uruguayan international.

The Monaco chief is considering a move for Penarol midfielder Diego Perez, who is currently playing in the Copa America for Uruguay.
