Kylian Mbappe chose PSG move to make history in his own country

Kylian Mbappe says he chose to move to Paris Saint-Germain because he wants to make history in his own country and play alongside Neymar.
The 18-year-old was linked with a move to a number of clubs after bursting on to the world stage with Monaco last season, with Real Madrid among those said to be interested in the French forward.
However, he joined PSG on an initial season-long loan deal on deadline day, with the Parisians set to make the transfer permanent next July for a fee understood to be worth £166m, and he says he chose a move to the capital because he is so determined to achieve greatness in his own country.
"Great players make history in their own country. If I had left France after six months I would have left as an eternal hope," he told Telefoot.
"When you come to Paris you are at a club that has the ambition to be the best in the world, you have come to a club that wants to play in all the competitions.
"I'm going to give everything I have got to make history with PSG."
Mbappe's move is set to eventually become the second most expensive in world football following Neymar's transfer from Barcelona to PSG for £198m earlier in the summer and the French international admitted linking up with the Brazilian was also important to him.
"Playing with Neymar is something extraordinary. PSG already interested me, but having Neymar is an additional boost," he added.
