Paris Saint-Germain needed extra-time to see off struggling third-tier side Villefranche-Beaujolais on Wednesday and reach the French Cup quarter-finals.

The semi-professional side had only scored only 17 goals in 19 league games this season, in stark contrast to runaway Ligue 1 leaders' 67 in 21 top-flight games.

But Thomas Tuchel's side - who face Manchester United in the Champions League next week - could not find a way past second-choice goalkeeper Antoine Philippon until the 102nd minute, when Edinson Cavani set up Julian Draxler.

Midfielder Moussa Diaby added a second in the 113th minute and Cavani scored the third with one minute left in extra-time.
