Revista Predictor: Matchday seven in La Liga

Former West Ham striker Simone Zaza scored Valencia's decisive goal against Real Sociedad

The Predictor has picked an intriguing treble of games to test us with this week...but again the big two are left out.

In fact, none of last season's top five feature, making those first goalscorer picks that little bit harder.

On we go then with Matchday seven...

MATCH 1 - Deportivo La Coruna v Getafe

Deportivo boss Pepe Mel's days appear to be numbered, and time might run out completely if Rob Palmer or Kevin Keatings get their way.

A home defeat to newly-promoted Getafe without scoring would surely be too much for the powers that be at El Riazor to stomach...but striker Lucas Perez came out in support of the former West Brom head coach during the week - both I and David Phillips think he'll be the hero in a 2-1 victory, whereas Jon Driscoll has gone for the gamble of backing a goalless draw.

MATCH 2 - Real Sociedad v Real Betis

A clash of two teams passing like elevators...Real Sociedad have lost their last three in a row conceding nine goals (or four conceding 12 if you count their Europa League loss at Zenit St. Petersburg), while Real Betis have won their last three in the space of nine days.

All of our experts think there'll be goals in this one, and all three outcomes have been covered - Palmer and Driscoll have backed a home win, myself and Kevin Keatings reckon it'll be a point apiece, while David Phillips says Betis will continue their winning streak.

Whatever happens, with two attractive teams on the pitch, it'll definitely be worth a watch.

MATCH 3 - Valencia v Athletic Bilbao

The Estadio Mestalla seems to rediscovering its cavernous, intimidating quality - certainly Malaga will have been left shell-shocked after their 5-0 defeat. Now Athletic Bilbao come to Valencia's famous home ground off the back of a five-game winless streak in all competitions, failing to score in three of those matches, and now having to juggle the Europa League too.

Everyone on the panel except Rob has predicted a home win - our esteemed leader in the standings believes it'll finish 2-2. Interestingly, we have five different picks for first goalscorer, which could mean movement in the overall table...

Kevin Keatings is Palmer's nearest challenger, just one point behind, and the two Davids aren't too far adrift of Jon Driscoll in third.

It's definitely all to play for, so make sure you get involved as well.
