Sergio Leon scored an 89th-minute goal to give Real Betis a 1-0 victory at Getafe in La Liga on Monday evening.

Leon poked home from eight yards after former Middlesbrough defender Antonio Barragan had produced a powerful run to the byline, sending the travelling fans into raptures.

Leon struck the winner but Real Betis had goalkeeper Antonio Adan to thank for a superb double save from Francisco Portillo's penalty.

With the score at 0-0, Adan guessed correctly to save Portillo's spot kick in the 64th minute, before getting to his feet again to deny Portillo a second time from point-blank range.

The result leaves Real Betis in sixth place with eight games remaining, just a point behind fifth-place Villarreal.
Getafe, meanwhile, are in 11th place, seven points behind Betis.
