Sevilla fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday.

Daniel Raba and Carlos Bacca had put the visitors into a commanding lead, which looked even more secure after Sevilla had Wissam Ben Yedder sent off in the 62nd minute.

However, the game turned after a 76th-minute red card for Jaume Costa as Nolito and Steven Nzonzi scored to level things up.

The point kept Villarreal a point in front of their opponents in the battle for sixth place and a place in next season's Europa League.

Barcelona broke La Liga's all-time unbeaten record with a 2-1 win over Valencia at the Nou Camp.

Las Palmas remained deep in relegation trouble after Mikel Oyarzabal struck the only goal of the game to give Real Sociedad a 1-0 win. It saw Sociedad record back-to-back league victories for the first time since August.

The score was also 1-0 at Estadio Municipal de Butarque as hosts Leganes defeated Celta Vigo. Miguel Angel Guerrero scored the goal.

Deportivo La Coruna won 3-2 for the second successive week as they inflicted a rare home defeat on Athletic Bilbao to keep alive their survival hopes.

Deportivo, who beat bottom club Malaga last time out, took control early on at San Mames Stadium as Adrian Lopez scored twice inside the opening quarter hour.

Raul Garcia reduced the host's deficit early in the second half but Borja Valle quickly restored the two-goal cushion with a 53rd-minute strike. Markel Susaeta pulled another goal back after 72 minutes but Bilbao could not get level and lost at home for only the third time this season in the league.
