Barcelona boss Luis Enrique says he is keen for Lionel Messi to finish his playing career at the Nou Camp.
The Barca forward is under contract until the summer of 2018, but Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague understands negotiations are yet to begin over a new deal.
The front page of Spanish newspaper Sport on Saturday claimed Messi's father Jorge, who acts as his agent, will open talks with the club after El Clasico on December 3.
Messi's former manager Pep Guardiola has reiterated his desire for the Argentina star to remain at Barca, and Enrique echoed that sentiment when speaking ahead of his side's clash with Real Sociedad on Sunday, live on Sky Sports.
"We all know how much media [speculation] there is about Messi," the Barca boss said.
"We all know what he means to Catalonia, what he means to Barcelona. But I'm sure Messi, when he considers everything, will give the correct information.
"There's really nothing I can say. Of course, I'd love him to finish his career here."
