Lionel Messi scored twice for Barcelona at the Bernabeu

Lionel Messi brought up his 500th goal for Barcelona in spectacular fashion by scoring the winner in El Clasico with the last kick off the match.

The Argentine raced to the corner flag and celebrated with his shirt held up to the Bernabeu crowd, picking up a yellow card in the process.

It was a remarkable conclusion to one of the best Clasicos in recent memory as Real Madrid first went ahead through Casemiro, and then fell behind after strikes by Messi and Ivan Rakitic.

James Rodriguez equalised for the 10 men of Real after Sergio Ramos saw red, only for Messi to steal the headlines deep into stoppage time, capping a 3-2 win for the visitors.

The result leaves Barcelona top of La Liga, level on points with Real having played a game more than their fierce rivals.
