Barcelona have sacked Gerard Lopez as coach of their B side after a poor run of form.

Gerard has been replaced for the final six league games by Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, who recently led the Barcelona U19s to UEFA Youth League glory over Chelsea.

Barca B have lost their last five matches and currently sit in 21st place in the Segunda Division, two points from safety with six matches remaining.

Lopez was initially appointed to the role in 2015 and oversaw promotion at the end of his second season. He had played for Barcelona for five years and won six international caps for Spain.
