Javier Saviola still believes he has a future with Spanish champions Barcelona. The Argentina international, who is currently in Germany for the Confederations Cup, spent last season on loan with Monaco.
Saviola is due to speak to Barca president Joan Laporta once his participation in the Confederations Cup comes to an end, and his agent Alfredo Cabrera Brizuela insists his client is focussed on making a positive impression when he returns to Camp Nou.
"Saviola would like to return to Barcelona once his loan at Monaco ends," explained Brizuela.
"I had a meeting with the president Joan Laporta and he's promised to me that Saviola will return to Barcelona.
"Saviola is thinking of nothing else other than showing up on July to begin pre-season work with Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid have been linked with a move for Saviola, should his future lie away from Barca, and the diminutive striker would not have a problem working under Carlos Bianchi.
"I heard that Carlos Bianchi would like to have Saviola in his team and I don't see why not," Brizuela added.
"It doesn't matter that Bianchi worked at Boca and Saviola played at River, but if he is going to play for a Spanish team it should be Barcelona.
"Anyway, we have to wait for and see what Barcelona decide."
