Cristiano Ronaldo became Real Madrid's all-time top scorer as Rafael Benitez's side saw off Levante 3-0 to go top of the Primera Division.

Cristiano Ronaldo officially became Real Madrid's all-time top goalscorer with the second goal in a 3-0 victory over Levante.

There was some controversy after the Portuguese superstar was heralded by the club as their record scorer after a double against Malmo in the Champions League.

However, a particular goal in September 2010 in a 2-1 win at Real Sociedad, where Ronaldo's 74th minute free-kick deflected off the back of compatriot Pepe and flew into the corner of the net, meant that officially he remained level with Raul on 323, if the goal is credited to Pepe.

As always, Ronaldo was not be deterred, and his superb strike to double Real's lead in the Bernabeu against Levante meant there can be no doubt as to who is in possession of such an honour now.
