Alvaro Morata says he wants to fight for a first-team role at Real Madrid after the Bernabeu giants activated their buy-back clause to re-sign him earlier this week.

Morata is once again a Real Madrid player, two years after he was sold to Italian champions Juventus.

Speculation has suggested that Madrid will look to sell the Spain striker on again - he reportedly has several suitors in England - but the player himself wants to contribute at Real.

Speaking to Spanish TV channel Cuatro, he said: "I do not have to prove anything. I am no longer a Castilla [Real Madrid's reserve team] player. Madrid will decide if I am capable. If not, another decision will have to be taken.
