Real Sociedad striker Nihat Kahveci has agreed a move to Liga rivals Villarreal, The Yellow Submarines confirmed on their website on Tuesday.
Nihat has concurred on a five-year contract with the UEFA Champions League semi-finalists and, provided he passes a medical, will be unveiled at El Madrigal on Thursday.
The Turkish international's contract with the San Sebastian outfit expires this summer and Villarreal are expected to clinch his Bosman signature.
The possible transfer was first made public in January when Villarreal stated they were pursuing talks with a view to concluding a summer transfer for the player, who was also wanted by Spartak Moscow.
The 26-year-old has spent five seasons with Sociedad since signing from Besiktas in January 2002 but he has lost his way a little in recent years with injury and a loss of form taking their toll on the talented frontman.
Nihat scored seven times this season as the Basque outfit finished just one place and one point above La Liga's bottom three.
