Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto admits he is open to a move to Atletico Madrid if they meet his buy-out clause.

The 21-year-old only joined Villarreal last summer from Racing Club in his homeland Argentina but has enjoyed an impressive debut season in Spain, scoring 20 goals in all competitions.

His displays have reportedly attracted interest from a number of top European clubs, including Liverpool and Atletico, whose head coach Diego Simeone managed Vietto at Racing Club.

“If Atletico offer €20m (£14m) I'll talk it through with my family and agent,” he told Radio Villarreal. “We'll try and come to the best decision, but I think everybody wins if they meet my buyout clause.”

Vietto is under contract at Villarreal until 2019 and has not ruled out staying at El Madrigal.

“Nothing has happened yet, they're just rumours and my head is at Villarreal, although nobody knows what might happen in the future,” he said.

“My aim is to be here when pre-season starts.”
