Athletic Bilbao have confirmed the signing of Inigo Martinez to replace Aymeric Laporte after he joined Manchester City.

Laporte completed his move to the Premier League leaders after Bilbao confirmed on Monday that his buy-out clause, which Sky Sports News understands to be £57m, had been paid.

However, they have moved to secure Laporte's replacement quickly, with Spain defender Martinez set to join from Basque rivals Real Sociedad for a fee of €32m (£28m).
