Lazio moved within three points of fifth-placed Roma in Serie A with a 3-0 victory over their city rivals.

Felipe Caicedo, Ciro Immobile and Danilo Cataldi all scored and Roma's misery was compounded by a red card for Aleksandar Kolarov deep into stoppage time.

Caicedo deputised for Immobile, who was nursing a thigh injury on the bench, and the Ecuadorian gave Lazio a 12th-minute lead at the Stadio Olimpico when he rounded Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

Edin Dzeko and Lorenzo Pellegrini saw efforts saved either side of the break, but Lazio doubled their lead after 73 minutes.

Immobile, on as a 64th-minute substitute, blasted home a spot-kick after Federico Fazio had brought down Joaquin Correa.

Fellow substitute Catladi added further gloss from 20 yards in the final minute before Kolarov was sent off after being booked twice in stoppage time.

AC Milan leapfrogged city rivals Inter Milan into third place with a 1-0 home victory over 10-man Sassuolo.
