Roma coach makes Stadio Olimpico exit
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has left the club after his resignation was accepted.
The 50-year-old has departed Stadio Olimpico just two games into the new Serie A season.
Roma have lost both of their Serie A matches after following up their 3-2 defeat at Genoa with a 3-1 home defeat to Juventus.
Spalletti had been linked with Zenit St Petersburg over the summer, only to deny the link.
Ranieri in?
The Italian is now jobless after departing Roma with Claudio Ranieri expected to fill his shoes.
"I have given my resignation and the club have accepted it," confirmed Spalletti.
Former Udinese coach Spalletti was appointed in 2005 and helped a stylish Roma finish second in Serie A in 2007 and 2008.
They also won the Italian Cup in both those years but started last season badly and ended up sixth in the league.
