No England return for talented Argentine
Lazio ace Mauro Zarate has dismissed rumours linking him with a return to England.
Recent reports have suggested a number of Premier League clubs were keen on signing the former Birmingham City forward during this month's transfer window.
Zarate's future at Lazio has been the subject of conjecture following suggestions of a bust-up with coach Davide Ballardini
However, the 22-year-old insists he has no plans to leave the Italian capital and wants to stay with Lazio.
Asked about the transfer speculation, Zarate said: "I am telling the truth. I have not read anything. If I had, I would have replied."
"I will never leave Lazio."
Zarate has set his sights on helping Lazio stay up this season and win the Coppa Italia.
"Avoiding relegation and doing well in the Coppa are our priorities," added Zarate.
"It is a bad period for us and we clearly have to improve. Winning the Coppa Italia would be great though."
Meanwhile, Tommaso Rocchi is set to stay at Lazio, according to his agent despite being linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.
Fiorentina have been credited with an interest in Rocchi, but the player's representative Oscar Damiani claims the forward will remain at Lazio after talks with club officials.
"I met Lotito and Tare yesterday and I think Tommaso will stay at Lazio to help the team in this difficult moment.
"There are many teams that have called from abroad, but there aren't the conditions for Tommaso to leave," he added.
